Early Years Conference - Leading an Outstanding Inspection in Practice

Birmingham – Saturday 6th December 2025

Inspecting Quality - Making the Most of your Inspection

This conference is concerned with supporting early years providers to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and ultimately in an inspection. The morning consists of keynote presentations relating to the new inspection criteria and the role of the inspector, in observing and making judgements on quality. The afternoon provides demonstrations of outstanding practice by practitioners from 5 ‘Outstanding’ settings that participated in trial new inspections. It explores the managers interview; a joint peer observation, and a team preparation session. Delegates will be provided with quick audit tools. By the end of the day you will be equipped to systematically audit /improve your setting, and use the new Ofsted inspection criteria to develop your team and to make the most of an inspection. You will have an understanding of ‘being outstanding’ as a complex process rather than simply an end result. This event is supported by ongoing practitioner training sessions across the West Midlands. Bespoke training discounts are also provided for delegates.

Mock Inspection, Pre and post-inspection advice and Quality Audit Services are also available with discount to delegates.
