Support and Advice – Preparing for your Ofsted inspection
As experienced providers, we know how complex and demanding the leadership role can be. Our team of consultants can offer tailor made training, support and advice on or off-site, to teams – across England, UK and internationally. Packages are provided but we are happy to discuss your requirements and develop a tailor-made package just for you. Packages include audits, face-to face or online training, staff meetings, resources and tools to evaluate, support and improve quality in line with inspection criteria. Our popular starter package is the one day audit visit, where two of our team audit quality, in a collaborative manner, and provide a clear starting point and action plan to move your setting forward.

Package 1
Mock Inspection Visit
Ideal for settings who have not been inspected recently or who are ‘due’ for inspection. A consultant will replicate the role of an inspector and follow the Inspection Framework. Feedback and a Report will be provided. This supports staff in understanding the inspection experience and the part they can play on the day of the inspection visit. It increases confidence and also identifies any aspects that are likely to require improvement or be inadequate, before the ‘real’ inspection, giving you time to take actions to improve. The consultant identifies the key strengths and weaknesses that are evidenced in a 6 hour visit. He or she will observe practice, talk unobtrusively with staff, meet with the manager, conduct a joint observation, track two children and look at essential documents, providing feedback at the end of the session.
Package 2
Guided Inspection Visit
As above but with advice, guidance and support throughout the mock inspection session. This is a less formal, more collaborative experience than Package 1, which is ‘arm’s length’ and is more like a real inspection. The consultant will coach and feedback to management/staff alongside evaluating quality, on an ongoing basis – highlighting breaches, weaknesses and strengths.
Package 3
Quality Audits and Improvement Plans – A consultant will use an audit tool to audit key aspects of quality e.g. of Education, Environment, Assessment, Safeguarding, Leadership. An improvement plan will be developed based on the audit.
Package 4
Staff Training Sessions Tried and tested training sessions and materials, guaranteed to support staff in reflecting, refining and developing practice.
Package 5
Tailor – made services and training. A support and training package negotiated to meet the unique needs of your setting. This package also includes FE colleges and training providers.
Package 6
Support on Special Educational Needs and Inclusion Awareness
A package of staff training, advice and support for management in educational settings and those working with children or young people who may be described as having ‘special’ educational needs.
